DMX was found unconscious in a parking lot of Ramada Yonkers hotel on Monday February 8th. Police responded to a call Monday night and found that the rapper, 45, was not breathing and had no pulse. The first responders performed CPR, saving his life, and rushed him to the hospital.
A witness reportedly told the police that DMX, whose legal name is actually Earl Simmons, had ingested a powdery substance before falling unconscious.
He was administered Narcan at the scene, which is an antidote that is commonly used in emergencies to treat narcotic overdoses. Reps for the star claim that the incident was brought on by an asthma attack and he had been ill with Bronchitis for several days before the incident and was reportedly short of breath right before he lost consciousness.
DMX has had his run-ins with the law before. The rapper has been jailed several times for drug possession, and in 2002, entered into rehab.
He is reportedly in stable condition now at a hospital receiving the care he needs
