Farley Granger was born on 1st July 1925, in San Jose, California, U.S. He was the only child of and . He lived at 1185 Hanchett Avenue in the Hanchett Residence Park neighborhood.

As Farley's father went bankrupt, their family had to move to Los Angeles and settled in a small apartment. His parent had to work at various temporary jobs. Later, his father took him for the audition of a British play and fortunately, he was selected.

On the night of the play, the talent agent Samuel Goldwyn was hugely impressed by his work and signed a contract worth $100 per week for seven years.

Farley Granger's Career

Farley made his movie debut from in 1943 and then appeared in the 20th Century Fox's . Following the release of he was enlisted in the United States Navy. Following his return from the Navy, he was hired by Goldwyn with an increased salary and presented him with a 1940 Ford Coupe.  

In 1948, he teamed up with the legendary director Alfred Hitchcock and appeared in the movie . Later, he got the lead role in the 1951 film , which was directed by Alfred Hitchcock and later becomes a cult classic film.

After the success of , he got various movie offers and most of them happened to be a success. His last feature film was and a documentary named  in 2003. Likewise, in 2004, he was seen in a short video documentary  

He died on 27 March 2011, in Manhattan, New York City. His body was cremated and ashes were given to his family. 

Considering Farley's contribution, he has a star located at 1551 Vine street on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
