Jim Koontz Obituary, Death – On Wednesday, James L. Koontz Sr., a resident of Duncansville who had reached the age of 68, unexpectedly passed away. His father, Donald Koontz, had passed away, and his mother, Helen (Anderson) Koontz, had given birth to him in Bedford. He was their son. Carol R. Zembower and him tied the wedding on June 23, 1972, and she passed away on April 3, 2022, prior to his passing. him passed away on April 3, 2022.
Surviving are a daughter, Heather Rudnick and husband, Cory, of Duncansville; a son, James Jr. and wife, Colette, of Carlisle; eight grandchildren: Seth, Conner, Benjamin, Alex, Dawson, Sarah, Darla, and Cici; a great granddaughter, Penelope; three sisters: Janet Raines (Royce) of Bedford, Barbara Eschmann of Bedford, and Kim Artinger (Carl) in TN; and two brothers: John (Debbie) of Bedford and David (Jan) in UT.
He was still alive when his brother-in-law, Thomas Eschmann, passed away. Thomas Eschmann was his spouse’s brother. Following his graduation from Bedford Area High School in 1972, James was awarded his diploma. After more than three decades of service to McClanahan Corporation, he eventually decided to retire from his position there. He was a volunteer at the Newry Lutheran Church and the Duncansville Fire Department in the past, and both organisations got to know him. Both of these organisations counted him as a member. In addition, James frequently visited his vacation cabin in Clinton County, where he had the opportunity to engage in activities such as fishing and hunting.
