Key Alves is the world's most-followed professional volleyball player on Instagram and the Brazilian has revealed she makes much more from OnlyFans than from her sport.
Alves has well over two million followers on Instagram and, while she would like to make more money from her sporting activities, she is making the best of the situation.
"Whether I like it or not, [OnlyFans] is my biggest source of income right now," Alves told Sportcast.
"I consider myself an athlete, model, influencer, businesswomen and entrepreneur...
"The photos I publish on my OnlyFans page are 'light' and professional. No nudes or anything like that."
Earning 50 times more than from volleyball
The Osasco Voleibol Clube player revealed that her income from digital platforms is 50 times higher than what she makes from volleyball.
OnlyFans is the most lucrative of these avenues for her. A membership to her page costs subscribers about 16 euros a month.
How did Key Alves become an influencer?
Alves sees herself as a professional sportsperson and part of that is looking after her image, which she soon realised was something she could profit from, with the help of an agent.
"From a young age, I always told my parents I wanted to be known worldwide," said Alves.
"More than just a pretty face, more than talent for volleyball, I am also very charismatic with my fans, giving them all my attention.
"I always like that, making appearances, taking photos, working with marketing. So I think that's the secret to reaching the brand I've created now."
