Jacklyn Zeman, well known for her depiction of Barbara “Bobbie” Spencer on “General Hospital” in over 800 episodes, has died. She was 70 years old.
Born on March 6, 1953, Ze,am had many minor roles before winning a series regular role as Lana McClain in the ABC daytime serial opera One Life to Live from 1976 to 1977.
Later that year, she was cast as Barbara “Bobbie” Spencer on General Hospital, a role she continued to play until 2010.
Zeman starred in the 1982 comic film National Lampoon’s Class Reunion and made a cameo in the satirical comedy picture Young Doctors in Love, in addition to soap operas. She appeared in Jury Duty: The Comedy (1990), co-starring Heather Locklear, and Montana Crossroads (1993), co-starring Kellie Martin.
Off-Broadway and other credits include Come Blow Your Horn, Barefoot in the Park, and The Boyfriend.
For her portrayal, Zeman got three Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and one Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
In 2021, Zeman was nominated for another Daytime Emmy Award for her regular role as Sofia Madison in the streaming series The Bay.
Zeman married three times and leaves behind two children, Cassidy Zee Gorden and Lacey Rose Gorden.
